The 2026 D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event wrapped up a couple of weeks ago, and Disney dropped a TON of news regarding their park expansions around the world!
From Avengers Campus in Hong Kong Disneyland and a Spider-Man-themed land in Shanghai Disneyland to Monstropolis, Villains Land, and Piston Peak in Disney World, it can be hard to keep up with all of the announcements. But don’t worry — we’ve got you! Let’s go through EVERY expansion announcement Disney dropped at this year’s D23!
Hong Kong Disneyland Avengers Campus
Starting off, we received NEW concept art for the Avengers Campus expansion in Hong Kong Disneyland! Disney said that this expansion will “transform the skyline of Stark Expo in Tomorrowland at Hong Kong Disneyland.”
The land will include a 120-foot attraction that will bring guests across realms like Asgard, Wakanda, and more! Looking at the concept art, guests will be met with Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, and Thor throughout the ride! Other superheroes are not confirmed at this point.
This land will also be home to a brand-new Quinjet landing platform where guests have the ability to encounter some of their favorite heroes, including Black Panther, Thor, Captain America, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, and Captain Marvel!
Finally, we got a look at a BRAND-NEW ride! Spider-Man is ready to host a demonstration at Stark Expo to show off the latest technological breakthroughs! However, a villain is not far behind him, so Spider-Man needs your help to protect the technology as he saves YOU!
NEWS: Disney Reveals NEW DETAILS for Hong Kong Disneyland’s Marvel Expansion
Spider-Man Land in Shanghai Disneyland
Disney’s first-ever land themed fully to Spider-Man will be coming to Shanghai Disneyland, as a Shanghai division of the Worldwide Engineering Brigade (W.E.B.) is added! At D23, fans got a closer look at the new coaster. This high-energy thrill coaster will take you on a fully immersive experience as you’ll follow Spider-Man to help him get out of trouble — because, as usual, the web-swinging hero got himself into a bit of a problem.

Disney California Adventure Avengers Campus
Hong Kong Disneyland isn’t the only theme park adding to its Avengers Campus, as Disney California Adventure is, too! At this year’s D23, we got a look at some new concept art AND the opening timeline for the land! The expansion is slated to open in 2028 with new attractions, including Avengers Infinity Defense, where you’ll have to cross the multiverse to help the Avengers stop Thanos. Disney notes that guests “will be surrounded by massive physical sets blending seamlessly with huge media scenes, putting you into the middle of the action as you feel like you’re hurtling across many worlds.”
The expansion will also be home to Stark Flight Lab, which is an attraction that will feature Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, and Brie Larson as Captain Marvel. On this attraction, guests will sit in a two-person “gyro-kinetic pod” and roll along a track before stopping in front of a giant robot arm.
NEWS: Two NEW Disneyland Rides Announce 2028 Opening
Pueblo Esperanza
At D23, we got a look at all THREE attractions coming to Pueblo Esperanza, the land that replaced the former DinoLand U.S.A. and will be inspired by several movies, including Encanto and Indiana Jones. First, we learned about the classic Disney carousel attraction. This will be called El Carrusel de los Animalitos, which translates to “The Little Animals’ Carousel.” The attraction will feature 22 distinct Disney characters as options to ride, including Heimlich from A Bug’s Life, Pua from Moana, Kevin from Up!, and so many more!
The name and more details about the Encanto attraction were also announced! This will be a themed ride-through experience where guests will enter Madrigal Casita and join Antonio after he received his special gift of the ability to communicate with animals! There will be NO height requirement, so the whole family can ride! The name of this attraction is Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto.
Finally, we got a look into the new Indiana Jones attraction, which will be built in the former DINOSAUR building. Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent will bring guests into a portal to the underworld and have them involved in a chase to escape before time runs out! The ride will include an Animatronic based on none other than Harrison Ford!

The Lion King Land in Disneyland Paris
Disneyland Paris will be home to Disney’s first-ever The Lion King-themed land AND the first themed attraction to the film! We got a closer look at one of the attractions coming to the land! It will be a log flume ride, which will follow Simba’s journey from cub to king! According to Disney, the attraction will take guests on a “sensational and musical adventure, listening to classic songs and passing through a variety of memorable scenes from the film.”

Piston Peak
A new Cars-themed land is coming to the Magic Kingdom in Disney World and will be home to dining, shopping, and two new attractions! We got a closer look at those attractions at D23. The first is called Miss Fritter’s Daredevil Spin-Along, which is the family-friendly attraction of this land. Miss Fritter, the school bus with a larger-than-life personality, will take center stage as the huge, school-bus-sized animatronic host of the wildest demolition derby yet.
The other attraction will be more thrilling! In this new ride, each car is competing for the fastest lap through the wilderness. The attraction will be called Cars Ridge Run Rally.
HUGE Ride News Announced for ‘Cars’ Expansion in Magic Kingdom
Monstropolis
Disney announced some MAJOR news surrounding this new land coming to Hollywood Studios! First of all, the opening timeline was expedited, and it will now open sometime in 2027! The land will be home to a quick-service location — Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza — which will serve up some quick slices of pizza to its guests.
Another restaurant is inspired by Harryhausen’s — the sushi restaurant where Mike and Celia go on a date! During your meal, guests will be able to watch a full-sized Animatronic of the Chef preparing food! They also revealed that this menu will be like none other in Disney World!
The theater show in the former Muppet*Vision 3-D building will be called “Welcome to Monstropolis,” and will be hosted by Mike and Sulley themselves! It will also feature a song by Randy Newman, which is the FIRST one he has ever written for a theme park! Disney also revealed that the suspended coaster will NOT open with the land in 2027.
NEWS: Monsters, Inc. Coaster Details, Will NOT Open With Land in Disney World
Villains Land
We FINALLY got some information on the Magic Kingdom expansion behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad! Villains Land will focus on all the iconic Disney villains, but mainly Cruella de Vil, the Evil Queen, and Dr. Facilier. This storyline will be brand new and an original take on these iconic villains, despite us already knowing who they are. It will reflect the personality of the villains who own them, and they invite guests into the mysteries of treats, trinkets, and more temptations!
One of the headlining attractions is a Maleficent Coaster! This will take guests through the enchanted briar around her mountaintop fortress and will include elements never attempted before and will be groundbreaking!
The other attraction will be a dark ride hosted by the Magic Mirror! The ride will feature a combination of special effects and physical set pieces that will bring his Mirror Realm, as well as iconic villains to life. From the concept art, it looks to be a boat ride! We have yet to receive any information regarding shopping, dining, and entertainment, and an opening timeline has not been announced.
We CANNOT WAIT for these expansions to open! We’re always making sure you’re up to date with the latest Disney news, so stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for more!
