Star Wars fans: get ready to jump to hyperspace!
May the 4th (otherwise known as Star Wars Day) isn’t too far away. You could spend Star Wars Day (or any other day you want to celebrate this beloved franchise) at the Star Wars Hotel in Disney World or at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on the east or west coast. But, soon you’ll also be able to celebrate all things Star Wars for a limited time in one iconic Disneyland spot.
According to the Space Mountain website for Disneyland, Space Mountain will be CLOSED on April 28th, 2022 and it will reopen just one day later (on April 29th) as Hyperspace Mountain!
The Hyperspace Mountain page confirms that it will be available starting April 29th. Note that it will only be available as Hyperspace Mountain until July 4th.
Never heard of Hyperspace Mountain? Basically, it’s a Star Wars overlay at Space Mountain that transforms this already beloved attraction into an epic Star Wars adventure. Throughout your adventure on Hyperspace Mountain, you might just see Rebel X-wing starfighters, Imperial TIE fighters, blaster fire, and much more!
This marks the first time this overlay has come back to Disneyland since 2019.
Your mission starts with a briefing from Admiral Ackbar. Turns out the Rebel Alliance needs help flying some vessels so they can survey an Imperial Star Destroyer. But once you arrive, you’ll find the Star Destroyer waiting with TIE fighters all around it! And then you’ll essentially end up at the heart of an epic Star Wars combat scene.
Again, this version of the attraction will only be around for a limited time. Right now, the calendar only lets us see through May 9th, and it does show operating hours for Hyperspace Mountain at least through that time. As the calendar allows guests to view more dates, we may see more dates on which this will be available.
We’ll continue to look for more updates and share those all with you!
