When you’re planning a trip to Disney World, you’re probably thinking about the food. The first restaurants you plan might be the ones with bigger reservations, like Cinderella’s Royal Table, where you get to eat in the Magic Kingdom castle, or Chef Mickey’s, where you get to meet Mickey and all of his friends. Yes, those are more important options because they require prior planning, but you could skip checking out the smaller restaurants you might want to visit.
This time, we’re checking out Grandstand Spirits at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort to see if it’s worth grabbing a quick drink during your Disney World vacation.
Atmosphere
Grandstand Spirits is a pool bar at All-Star Sports Resort. The stand is super bright and bold with amazing colors, so it’s easy to spot in the resort.
There is a bit of seating around the edges and some shade, but you might find it easier to grab your drinks and head to another spot.
Menu
The pool bar has a limited menu that includes a few Pool Bar Bites…
…Non-Alcoholic Beverages…
…and Specialty Cocktails.
You can also grab Assorted Beer in bottles, cans, or on draft, and Wine and Sangria.
Enough about the menu, let’s drink!
Drinks
We started with the Blueberry Lemonade, made with Three Olives Blueberry Vodka, Bols Blue Curaçao, and Minute Maid Premium Lemonade, topped with lemon and pomegranate juices and finished with Sprite for $17.50.
This drink is very light and refreshing, with blueberry notes without being overly powerful. The tartness of the lemonade comes through alongside the artificial blueberry flavor. It’s not very sweet, and we think it’s perfect to drink by the pool on a hot day. It does have a generous pour, so make sure you grab a water before sitting by the pool, too.
We also had the Strawberry Margarita for $18.50, which features Lunazul Reposado Tequila and lime juice blended with strawberry purée.
Now THIS is great for a hot, Florida day. It’s so cold, frosty, and full of strawberry goodness. It’s refreshing and fruit-forward, which we loved on a hot day, and the tequila taste is very light on the back. It’s a great way to kick your Disney World vacation off in high gear and enjoy hanging out by the pool. You might get a brain freeze, but we think it was totally worth it!
Nosh or Not
You should try Grandstand Spirits if…
- You’re looking for a quick drink — Since it’s a small pool bar, it’s perfect to grab alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks when you’re walking by and heading to the pool
- You’re hanging out by the pool — Don’t want to leave the pool to get some fuel? No worries, you can grab quick bites and drinks right by the pool.
- You’re on-the-go — Because there’s not a lot of seating, this spot is great to grab your drink and head somewhere else, whether it be the pool or your room.
You’re probably okay to skip if…
- You’re not staying at All-Star Sports — While we enjoyed our drinks, there’s no need to go out of your way to head to this pool bar.
- You’re ready for a bigger meal — If you’re looking to sit down with the whole family and enjoy a real meal, Grandstand Spirits isn’t your spot, and you’ll want to head to another restaurant.
- You prefer cheaper options — The drinks here are close to $20 a piece, and some of the bites are on the higher-cost side, too. An Italian Sub is $13, and if you’re buying for one ot wo people, this can be fine, but the whole family might rack up the bill pretty fast.
Overall
We loved our drinks at Grandstand Spirits, but we wouldn’t go out of our way to stop here. It’s similar to a lot of pool bars around Disney World, so it’s great if you’re staying at All-Star Sports, but if you’re not in the All-Star areas, there’s no need to come out of your way. The small bites can be great options, and the drinks are refreshing on a hot Florida day. If you’re heading to the pool or want to bring some quick drinks and snacks to your hotel room, this might be perfect. We think it totally made our day by the pool, and we’re not sure how we can go to a pool without getting a Strawberry Margarita!

Last week you said the bar was closing for the rest of the year for refurbishment. Is it???
It’s closing on September 18th, but still open until then. 🙂
Well the next time I go (next year hopefully) I’m hoping to stay at the Art of Animation; I’ve stayed there before and loved it! I was really glad to see that it made it all the way to the final two!!
AJ, people aren’t listening to your advice. Every where I went in every park there were soap bubbles!
