Why Are Fans Torn Over the New KATSEYE x Disney Collection?

Disney has collaborated with a ton of brands, people, sporting events, and more. We’ve seen Disney work with top designers like Coach and Loungefly, as well as partner with Formula 1 and Fortnite.

Disney also collaborates with celebrities on merchandise, including a brand new collection featuring Katseye. However, let’s just say that Disney and Katseye fans aren’t exactly sure how they feel about this new collaboration. Let’s see what they’re saying.

KATSEYE recently surprised fans by performing a tribute to Susan Egan at the Disney Legends ceremony held during D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. Now, KATSEYE has collaborated with Disney for a brand new merchandise collection. Complex Shop recently announced the new collaboration on social media and showed off four shirts that just dropped as part of the KATSEYE x Disney collection. Here’s what that looks like:

Fan reactions were mixed. Some thought the shirts were cute, and @Lucyy said, “the minnie shirt with the little bow is everything to me this is exactly the kinda collab i didnt know i needed until now.”

Just check out this Minnie and Figaro cropped shirt. It certainly seems to fit the KATSEYE brand.

It looks like @ivorynina is planning on scoring a shirt or two from the collection: “my wallet is in danger.”

Meanwhile, other fans weren’t so kind. Luffy said, “why do brands do these collabs like it’s just a random photo of mickey with katseye underneath. the photo has nothing to do with katseye. its so lazy.”

The collection doesn’t just include apparel, though. There’s also a pin set. We can’t imagine KATSEYE and Disney fans NOT wanting to collect these.

Manuel said, “This looks like bootleg products.” Ouch. Doll agreed, “I’m crying they didn’t even try to make these shirts cute.”

@ADDition agreed and posted, “Gurl this looks ugly. They just slapped on 2 png pictures and called it a day.”

There’s even a fun Mickey and Minnie tote.
