For Disney adults, the monorail bar crawl around the Polynesian, Contemporary, and Grand Floridian resorts is a classic Disney World rite of passage. But what if we told you you’re missing out on a BETTER bar crawl?
The Swan and Dolphin Resorts are located right between EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, with dozens of top-notch restaurants and lounges, and for the parents out there, included childcare!
You can get to the Swan and Dolphin Resorts by bus from any Disney World park, or take the boat or the 10-minute walking path from EPCOT or Hollywood Studios. For the parents out there, we’re stopping by the Dolphin Resort first, because they offer free childcare. You can drop off your kids ages 5 to 12 at the Camp Dolphin kids’ club, and if you bring back your receipt from one of the signature restaurants (bluezoo, AMARE, and Il Mulino), you’ll get two hours of childcare for completely free!
Once you’ve dropped your kids off, head to Todd English’s bluezoo Lounge. They offer a wide variety of innovative cocktails, red or white wine, and craft beers. The spot is well-known for its seafood, so grab some shrimp cocktail or crab nachos while you’re there. If you want some great deals, Happy Hour runs from 4 PM to 6 PM daily.
Then, head next door to the Rosa Mexicano Lounge. Their Frozen Margarita was voted the best in New York City, and we can agree that it’s one of the best in Disney World. Our favorite flavor option is the Frozen Pomegranate Margarita. The strongest flavor is pomegranate, and it makes the drink sweet and fruity! The Tequila is strong, with a clear kick, but blends smoothly with the pomegranate.
After some margs, leave the Dolphin and head across the bridge to the Swan Resort, then go into the lobby and turn left to find Il Mulino. The restaurant’s lounge boasts an impressive selection of wines, beers, and specialty cocktails. You can grab some of our favorite Italian dishes in Disney World with your drinks, like Polpette Al Forno, Carpaccio Di Carne, and Arancini di Carne.
And last but not least, head to the other side of the lobby for Kimonos Lounge, a Japanese lounge offering traditional sake and specialty cocktails. We love their Raspberry Sake Sangria, but they have tons of sake cocktails to choose from if you’re craving something strong!
That’s our recommended route for the Swan and Dolphin bar crawl, but with eight restaurants between the two resorts, you have plenty of options if you want to create your own adventure. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disney World tips!
