EPCOT is known for having incredible food and drinks, with all of the amazing restaurants and festival favorites.
However, there is one EPCOT restaurant that has always been very controversial, and it is officially closed for refurbishment.
Disney recently announced that the Coral Reef Restaurant in the Seas Pavilion would be closing for refurbishment. This is one of those restaurants where you either love it or hate it. The theming of this spot is undeniably incredible since you are dining in the Seas aquarium with fish and all sorts of sea creatures swimming next to the tables. However, some people feel as though the food does not live up to the hype or the theming.
Either way, this refurbishment started today, which means from now through November 4th this restaurant is unavailable. So while this closure is fairly brief, if you are visiting EPCOT in the next few months, it’s important to know that this spot will be closed.
But there is no shortage of incredible food to find in EPCOT right now; the Food & Wine Festival is well underway, bringing amazing food and drinks all around the park.
In fact, we often recommend skipping a dining reservation during the festivals in favor of eating at the food booths instead.

Seriously hoping when it returns, that it lives up to the one time I ate there. I was impressed by the food, but that was years ago. We didn’t go after that because we started hearing from friends how it’d gone downhill. I love the theming and environment, though.
