We Just Got A Sneak Peek at the New Simpsons Movie

We’re at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, and we’re coming to you LIVE from the Disney Entertainment Panel, where we’re learning all about new movies and tv shows that Disney has in the works.

Well, we just got a pretty big surprise. The panel started with a first (albeit rough) look at the new Simpsons movie, which will be landing in theaters in September, 2027!

In the movie, we saw some rather rough footage of a baseball game in a stadium in Springfield. The ball goes foul and Homer goes on a wild goose chase throughout the town to go after it. After a chaotic chase, the clip ends with “D’oh!” OF COURSE. And then we got a look at the movie’s logo:

We first learned about The Simpsons 2 movie back in 2025, when Disney initially announced it. The film was originally set to be released in July, but it seems it’s been pushed back to September. Based on the rough footage we saw, there’s still quite a bit of work that needs to be done on it.

The Simpsons was created by Matt Groening and is officially the longest-running animated series and sitcom on television. It first aired in 1989 on Fox, and since then has aired for a whopping 38 seasons. After Disney acquired Fox, it also acquired The Simpsons and you can watch all the episodes right now on Disney+.

The Simpsons has won numerous awards, including over 30 Primetime Emmys, and has been often cited as one of the most influential television shows of all time. The first movie, The Simpsons, released in theaters in 2007.
